How to Finish the Whole Quran: Khatm Plans for 30, 60 and 365 Days

September 24, 20262 min readBy Nouf Quran Academy

Completing a full reading of the Quran — a khatm — is a goal many Muslims set, especially in Ramadan. The key is choosing a plan that matches your real life.

The numbers

The standard Madani mushaf has 604 pages, divided into 30 juz of roughly 20 pages each. That makes planning simple.

Plan 1: 30 days (e.g. Ramadan)

  • 20 pages (one juz) a day.
  • About 4 pages after each of the five daily prayers.
  • Time: roughly 40–60 minutes a day for a fluent reader.

Plan 2: 60 days

  • 10 pages a day — about 2 pages after each prayer.
  • A great option if you're still building fluency.

Plan 3: one year

  • Just under 2 pages a day (about 1.7).
  • Around 5–10 minutes a day — sustainable for anyone.

Reading with understanding

A khatm with the translation takes longer but brings the text to life. Consider reading the Arabic for your khatm and the translation of a smaller portion each day on our Quran pages.

If you can't read fluently yet

Don't let that stop you. Start with a smaller goal — Juz ‘Amma, or one surah a week — while you build fluency in Noorani Qaida or Quran reading classes.
