Parents in the UK often ask us the same first question: how much will online Quran classes cost? The honest answer is that it depends on a few clear choices. This guide explains them, so you can compare academies fairly.

How much do online Quran classes cost in the UK?

Online Quran classes in the UK are usually paid monthly, in pounds. The price depends on four things: one-to-one or group, lessons per week, lesson length, and the teacher's training. Our current plans are on our fees page.

What changes the price?

Four choices decide most of the price of online Quran classes. Change one, and the monthly fee changes too.

Choice Lower cost Higher cost
Class type Group class One-to-one class
Lessons per week 2 a week 5 a week
Lesson length 30 minutes 60 minutes
Teacher General Quran teacher Teacher with an ijazah, or a Hifz specialist

Young children rarely need more than 30 minutes. Hifz students need lessons most days. Adults learning Tajweed or Arabic often prefer fewer, longer lessons.

How do I compare Quran academy fees fairly?

Compare the cost per lesson, not the monthly price. Divide the monthly fee by the number of lessons in the month. Then check the lesson length, because a 30-minute and a 45-minute lesson are not the same thing.

  1. Find the monthly fee for the plan you want.
  2. Count the lessons in a month: lessons per week × 4 (or the academy's own count).
  3. Divide the fee by the lessons to get the cost per lesson.
  4. Check the minutes, and compare like with like.

Is online cheaper than a local Quran teacher?

Often, yes. With online classes there is no travel time or petrol, and no waiting outside a madrasah. You also choose from many more teachers, including female teachers. Read our comparison of online classes and a local madrasah.

What should be included in the price?

A fair monthly fee for online Quran classes in the UK should include more than the lessons alone. Before paying, check that you get:

  • the same teacher each week, at a fixed time in UK time;
  • a free first lesson, with no card needed;
  • a short progress report for parents, at least monthly;
  • the chance to reschedule with notice;
  • a clear cancellation policy, with no long contract.

Questions to ask before you pay

Ask these before you sign up, and get the answers in writing:

  • Is there a family or sibling discount?
  • What happens if my child misses a lesson?
  • How much notice do I need to give to stop?
  • Can I choose a female teacher?
  • Are lessons in UK time, and do they move when the clocks change?

Planning around UK school holidays

UK families often add lessons in the summer and keep a lighter routine in term time. If your fee is monthly, ask how half-terms and holidays are handled. See our UK school holidays Quran plan for ideas.

Our fees

Our fees are monthly in pounds and depend on lessons per week and lesson length. Families with more than one learner can ask about a family discount, and the first lesson is free. See every plan on our fees page, or read about our online Quran classes in the UK.

Frequently asked questions

How much do online Quran classes cost in the UK?

Online Quran classes in the UK are usually paid monthly. The price depends on one-to-one or group lessons, how many lessons a week, how long each lesson is, and the teacher's training. Compare plans by working out the cost per lesson.

Are one-to-one Quran classes worth the extra cost?

For most children and beginners, yes. In a one-to-one lesson the teacher hears every word and corrects it straight away, so progress is usually faster than in a group.

Is there a free trial before paying?

Most good academies offer one. At Nouf Quran Academy, the first 30-minute lesson is free, with no card needed.

Do siblings get a discount?

Many academies offer a family discount for a second or third learner. Always ask before you sign up.
